I thought I’d start a new series here on my blog and talk about my favorites for the week. I’m gonna be honest, I might not do it EVERY Friday, but I think it’s something that I can commit to doing at least twice a month! For my first edition of Friday Favorites I’m going to talk all about what I’ve been watching (and loving) on TV/Netflix/Hulu, etc.!

MARCH MADNESS!!!! Well I’m sure this comes as no surprise. For those of you who know me, you know that I think the NCAA Tournament is quite possibly the most exciting thing to happen in the calendar year of sports. It’s more fun than the college football playoffs, the Super Bowl, the NBA Championship, the World Series…it’s just simply the best. It’s unpredictable and wild; it creates an enormous amount of anxiety for someone like me, but who cares, I love it all the same. The “experts” seem to be all over the place as far as predicting a winner this year. Most people have picked the likes of Gonzaga (can they finally get over the hump?), Duke, UNC, Arizona, Villanova, Louisville, and Kentucky…and you know what, it wouldn’t surprise me if any or none of those teams took home the trophy. That’s the beauty of the NCAA tournament, you feel like anyone has a chance; many of the games go down to the wire, even the ones you expect to be blow outs! The atmosphere simply cannot be beat, if you like sports and have never really gotten into the tournament, I challenge you to give it a chance, you won’t be sorry.

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS!! David suggested that after watching ALL of Gilmore Girls, I give FNL a chance. Given that it’s about football and life in a small Texas town, David thought I would take to it quickly…and he was right. I love it. The characters are insanely loveable (despite their flaws) and Coach Taylor is just a dream. The relationship that he and his wife have really help to carry the show; you can’t help but become invested in these fictional characters and their lives, and that’s something that I can get behind. Also, I’m a sucker for a southern accent, so I knew this would be an automatic hit (for me)! If you’re looking for football, heartache, and wildly entertaining southern dialogue, then give FNL a try. Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can’t Lose!

NEW GIRL!!! I have been watching New Girl since it premiered back in 2011. I loved it then and I love it now. With the notion that the show might be coming to an end sooner rather than later, I have started to think about all the things that I could/should say about a show that has taken me on a crazy rollercoaster ride of emotions. If you enjoy quirky and sometimes downright hilarious dialogue, then you might enjoy New Girl. While it’s more funny than it is dramatic, it still offers those sweet and tender moments that keep you coming back for more. It does a nice job of balancing friendship and romantic relationships; so if you’re in the market for a quirky, hilarious, yet sweet sitcom, then I would recommend you giving it a try!

HART OF DIXIE! I decided to start watching this because David’s sister recommended it to me. It follows Dr. Zoe Hart (Rachel Bilson) as she finds herself in Blue Bell, Alabama where she inherits her late father’s half of a Medical Practice. Again, I love a southern accent and this show has PLENTY, so it didn’t take me long to fall in love. Wade Kinsella (Wilson Bethel) is clearly the object of Zoe’s affection even though she is willing to go to the ends of the earth to deny that fact. I’m only in season 2, but I’m hoping that there is a happy ending for Wade and Zoe when it’s all said and done! If you are looking for something lighthearted and easy to follow, then you might want to give Hart of Dixie a try!

So what are some of your favorite shows? Is there anything you think I just have to see?
